Pure Explore – A Tool to Plan Your Trekking and Camping Holidays in India

A team of us have been busy the last few months working on a project called ‘Pure Explore’ which will make it easier and much cheaper for you to plan your trekking and camping holidays in Indian and Nepal Himalayas.

This small blog consists of just a few posts and yet I get messages almost everyday from various trekking enthusiasts seeking answers to their doubts and queries. Questions vary from how to reach the trailhead of the trek, on what to pack, what kind of weather to expect, stay options, food options, road conditions, guide recommendation etc.

While there are plenty of websites which have listed these treks, the information provided in them are according to the whim and fancies of various trek operators and do not touch the details. They are just concerned about making a sale, and in the process, the traveler is left searching for more reliable and first hand information. And that is when you go about searching for other people’s blogs just like the one you are reading now.

Our ultimate aim is to create a platform not for the sellers, but for explorers who don’t have to go about blog to blog searching for what they are looking for. Pure Explore is being built on the lines of a community and using crowd sourced information to create the most updated and firsthand source of information in one single page for every trek / camping spot in India and Nepal…just like a Wikipedia for treks!

Our aim is to document and list every possible trek or short hikes in India and Nepal along with any relevant information you can think of. Whether you are planning a solo trek without hiring guides/porters, or you want to join a fix departure group, Pure Explore will help you plan the trip! If planning on your own, the extensive and up-to-date details on the trek will help you chart out the most perfect itinerary. If wanting to join a group, we bring you a list of the most experienced local guides handpicked from various villages all over Himalayas who will organize the entire trek for you. Since we work with the locals directly, the cost also comes down significantly compared to the prices you usually see online.

But for this, we need your support without which none of this will be possible. 🙂

For starters, please begin with liking our Facebook page at: Facebook Pure Explore

You can also follow us on Twitter: Twitter Pure Explore

Or instagram: Instagram Pure Explore

Since we are still in the process of developing the website, in case you require any help in planning a trek or to get in touch with a local to organize the trek, please feel free to email us on Info@PureExplore.com or call us at +91-96 5030 7744.

Thank you so much for reading this and if you have any questions regarding the project, or if you would like to be a part of it, please leave a comment and I will get back to you within no time!

  1. Excellent initiative, the amount of “signal is to noise ratio” as i refer to it, on trekking in india is appalling. This was primarily the reason we started with our initiative. We look forward to more information dissemination from you. Cheers!

  2. Good luck for your new initiative. As Bharat mentioned, it is important to cut down the noise that is present on trekking blogs. Hope to see some quality info from this site.

    1. Hi Akhil, thank you so much 🙂 I’ll need all the help from everyone who is passionate about hiking to contribute in this. This is ultimately going to be a community driven project where I’ll need the really passionate ones to contribute for the benefit of others. Will keep posting updates on this. Thanks again!
